Perimenopause & Menopause  ·  Coral Springs, FL

Something has shifted.
You can feel it.
And your labs say you’re fine.

You are not imagining it. You are not overreacting. Something in your body has changed — and you deserve care that actually names it.

Perimenopause can begin years before your cycle changes. Most women are never told that. Most labs are not designed to catch it early. But your body already knows.

At Coral Springs Acupuncture Clinic, we support women through every stage of the hormonal transition — from the earliest perimenopausal shifts through post-menopause. With structured, program-based care that addresses the nervous system, hormones, sleep, mood, and the symptoms that have not been fully explained anywhere else.

Woman navigating perimenopause seeking acupuncture support in Coral Springs
Is This You?

You know your own body.
And something
has changed.

Maybe it started with your sleep. Or a shift in your cycle. Or a mood that felt unfamiliar — irritability that arrived without warning, anxiety that seemed to come from nowhere. And when you brought it to your doctor, the labs came back normal, and you left without answers.

What you may be experiencing is perimenopause — the hormonal transition that begins years, sometimes a decade, before your last period. It is real, it is significant, and it is one of the most undertreated transitions in women’s health.

  • Sleep that changed — harder to fall asleep, or waking at 3am
  • Hot flashes or night sweats — even occasional or mild ones
  • Mood shifts that feel unfamiliar — irritability, anxiety, low mood
  • Brain fog — forgetting words, losing focus, feeling less sharp
  • Cycle changes — shorter, longer, heavier, lighter, or skipping
  • Weight shifting to the midsection without clear dietary changes
  • Fatigue that is different from before — deeper, less responsive to rest
  • Joint aches or increased body tension that appeared gradually
  • Heart palpitations your doctor says are “nothing to worry about”
  • Feeling like yourself has become a moving target

This is not anxiety. This is not stress. This is a hormonal shift — and it deserves real support.

“The women I see in perimenopause are often the most dismissed patients in medicine. Their symptoms are real, their bodies are changing dramatically, and they are frequently told everything looks fine. It is one of the reasons I love this work.”

What We Commonly Address

The transition shows up
in many ways at once.

Perimenopause and menopause are not single symptoms. They are a whole-system shift — and the most effective support addresses them as such.

Hot Flashes & Night Sweats

Temperature dysregulation is one of the most researched areas of acupuncture and menopause. Structured care consistently reduces both frequency and intensity — often meaningfully within the first six to eight weeks.

Sleep Disruption

Waking between 1am and 4am, difficulty falling asleep, or sleep that no longer restores. These patterns are connected to shifting estrogen and cortisol rhythms — and they respond well to nervous system regulation through acupuncture.

Mood & Anxiety

Irritability, emotional reactivity, low mood, or anxiety that feels hormonally driven. Acupuncture directly supports the neurotransmitter and cortisol patterns that become destabilized during the transition.

Brain Fog & Fatigue

Difficulty concentrating, slower word recall, or a persistent low-grade exhaustion that sleep does not resolve. Often connected to disrupted sleep architecture and hormonal fluctuation — both of which improve as the program progresses.

Cycle & Hormone Shifts

Irregular periods, heavier or lighter flow, shorter cycles, or unpredictable PMS. Perimenopause begins in the cycle before anything else changes. Acupuncture supports the hormonal rhythm as it transitions.

Weight & Body Changes

Midsection weight gain, increased body tension, and joint aching that arrived with the hormonal shift. These are metabolic and inflammatory responses to the transition — and they respond to the same nervous system and hormonal regulation work.

How This Works

Not suppressing the transition.
Supporting the body through it.

Perimenopause is not a malfunction. It is a genuine hormonal transition — and the symptoms that come with it are the result of a system in flux. Acupuncture does not stop that transition. It supports the nervous system and hormone regulation pathways that make the transition more tolerable, more stable, and less disruptive to daily life.

The approach works through the same mechanism whether you are in early perimenopause with subtle cycle shifts, mid-transition with hot flashes and sleep disruption, or post-menopausal with lingering symptoms. The nervous system and inflammatory pathways we work with are active throughout.

This care is safe alongside HRT. Many women use both, and some find that acupuncture allows them to use less hormonal support over time. We always coordinate with your existing medical care — never in opposition to it.

Phase 1  ·  Reset
Calm the nervous system

The first phase reduces the stress response that amplifies every perimenopausal symptom. A calmer nervous system means less intense hot flashes, better sleep onset, and a more stable emotional baseline.

Phase 2  ·  Regulate
Stabilize the patterns

Once the nervous system has more stability, we work on the hormonal rhythms — supporting more predictable cycles, mood regulation, and reducing the reactivity that makes the transition so disruptive.

Phase 3  ·  Restore
Rebuild what has depleted

The transition draws heavily on the body’s reserves. Phase 3 rebuilds energy, supports sleep depth, and addresses the fatigue and joint aching that persist once acute symptoms reduce.

Phase 4  ·  Optimize
Protect what has changed

The final phase stabilizes the improvements and builds resilience — so that as the transition continues, the body navigates it from a stronger foundation.

Common Questions

Everything you want to know
before your first visit.

What is perimenopause, and how is it different from menopause?

Menopause is defined as twelve consecutive months without a menstrual period. Perimenopause is the hormonal transition leading up to that point — which can last four to ten years and involves significant fluctuation in estrogen, progesterone, and the hormonal rhythms that govern sleep, mood, temperature regulation, and energy. Most women enter perimenopause in their mid-40s, but it can begin in the late 30s. Many women experience significant symptoms years before their cycle visibly changes.

My labs came back normal. Could I still be in perimenopause?

Yes — and this is one of the most common and frustrating experiences for women in early perimenopause. Standard hormone labs measure a single point in time, and estrogen and progesterone fluctuate significantly during the perimenopausal transition. A result that falls “within range” on the day of the test does not mean hormones are stable or optimal across the month. If your symptoms are consistent with perimenopause, we treat the functional picture — not the number on the lab report.

Can acupuncture reduce hot flashes?

Yes. Acupuncture is one of the most researched non-hormonal approaches to hot flash reduction. Clinical studies consistently show meaningful reductions in both frequency and intensity, typically within six to twelve weeks of structured care. The mechanism involves regulation of the hypothalamic thermostat and the autonomic nervous system, both of which become dysregulated during the hormonal transition.

Is acupuncture safe alongside HRT?

Yes. Acupuncture is safe alongside hormone replacement therapy and complements it well. Many women use both — finding that acupuncture helps with the symptoms HRT does not fully address, such as sleep disruption, mood instability, and fatigue. We support your relationship with your prescribing physician and never advise reducing or stopping any medication without their guidance.

Can acupuncture help with brain fog and memory?

Yes. Cognitive changes during perimenopause — forgetting words, slower processing, difficulty concentrating — are connected to three converging factors: estrogen fluctuation, disrupted sleep, and nervous system dysregulation. The Functional Flow™ program addresses all three, and many patients describe meaningful improvements in mental clarity as the program progresses, often beginning in weeks four to eight.

What if I am already post-menopausal?

Acupuncture is highly effective post-menopause. The hormonal environment is different, but the nervous system, inflammatory, and metabolic pathways we work with remain active and responsive. Post-menopausal patients commonly see improvement in sleep, joint pain, mood, fatigue, and urogenital symptoms through the same structured program approach.

How soon will I notice a difference?

Many women notice some shift within the first two to four weeks — particularly in sleep quality, anxiety, or hot flash intensity. More sustained and structural improvements typically develop between weeks six and twelve as the nervous system and hormone patterns stabilize. The full sixteen-week program is recommended for most women with active perimenopausal symptoms because the changes deepen significantly in the later phases.

I am in my late 30s. Could this apply to me?

Yes. Perimenopause can begin as early as the late 30s, and the earliest signs — cycle shortening, sleep changes, PMS worsening, mood shifts — often appear years before anyone names the transition. If you are in your late 30s or early 40s and something has shifted, it is worth exploring. Your first visit is where we look at the whole picture.

Can this help with weight changes around the midsection?

Midsection weight gain during perimenopause is connected to shifting estrogen levels, cortisol dysregulation, and metabolic changes that respond to the same nervous system and hormonal regulation work we do in the program. Acupuncture is not a weight loss intervention, but many patients find their body composition stabilizes as systemic inflammation reduces and the hormonal pattern becomes more consistent.
